Stranger Things fans are all saying the same thing after Netflix dropped a new teaser trailer for the upcoming fifth season on Wednesday.
The 52-second clip certainly doesn’t give much away, apart from the episode titles and the fact that the final season of the hit TV show – which stars Millie Bobby Brown – will be available to stream sometime in 2025.
Episode titles include The Crawl, The Vanishing Of, Shock Jock, and The Bridge, and the trailer confirms that ‘one last adventure begins’ in ‘the fall of 1987,’ but many fans were unimpressed with how long they’ve had to wait, as season 4 was released in 2022.
Taking to social media, one person joked: ‘Feels like 1987 when the last season came out,’ while another moaned: ‘Feeding me crumbs with this trailer. Drop the season already.’
A third person posted: ‘Don’t show me another ad until it’s 2025. One of the worst moves this show makes is how long it takes between seasons. Better have an amazing recap before the first episode.’

‘Let’s go. Been such a long wait for this,’ one excited fan wrote, while another mocked: ‘The cast is in their 30s now. You waited too long!’
‘About damn time!’ a different person commented, while another fan asked: ‘What was the point of this trailer?’ and a different person said: ‘Stop with the teasing… give us a date and a trailer!’
Other people were stunned that the series is still going as one person posted: ‘This show isn’t dead??? I thought it died after season 2,’ while another simply asked: ‘This show is still going?!’
A different person pondered: ‘I wonder how many people gave up on this show after taking so long.’
‘This show is still a thing. That’s so five years ago,’ someone else claimed, while another begged: ‘please just end this show already,’ and a different person asked: ‘I fell off the Stranger Things train. Is it still worth watching?’
The first season of Stranger Things landed on Netflix back in July 2016 and was an instant hit with viewers.
Season two followed in October 2017, then a third season dropped in July 2019.
Fans were forced to wait longer for the fourth season due to Covid and it eventually dropped in two parts in May and July 2022.
Some Stranger Things fans took to X to complain about the teaser trailer
One person joked that the cast were older now and Netflix had ‘waited too long’
One fan complained about how long they have to wait in between seasons of the Netflix hit
The trailers comes just weeks after fans got a first look at at the show’s newest addition.
Terminator star Linda Hamilton was reported way back in June of 2023 to be joining the hit Netflix series, but it took more than a year for her to get in front of the camera.
The 68-year-old actress was pictured in October as she shot a scene on set in Palmetto, Georgia.
Few details have been released about her character, but she appeared to be dressed in a costume of dark green military-style fatigues.
Hamilton was also picture standing next to vehicle painted in the same shade that also appeared as if it could be for military purposes.
Back in February, Hamilton revealed that her casting in Stranger things was a mixed blessing.
She gushed to Us Weekly that she was a huge fan who had ‘watched every season with relish,’ adding that she ‘just love[s]’ the series.

But Hamilton also has a long-standing habit of never watching films or television shows that she appears in, which has put her fandom to the test.
‘When you really buy into something, you don’t see yourself in it,’ she explained. ‘So I think, in a way, it kind of ruined the show for me. I never watch [a project], once I’m in something.’
‘It would just completely take me out of the reality of it to see myself in there,’ she continued. ‘So I won’t be watching [Season 5].’
