The singer has had a surgical procedure on a leg injury

Stevie Nicks has postponed her Glasgow gig at short notice after having minor surgery for a leg injury.

The former Fleetwood Mac frontwoman was due to appear at the OVO Hydro on Saturday but organisers said she needs a “few days of recovery” following a medical procedure.

It would have been the 76-year-old singer’s first solo show in Scotland, after previously playing the city with Fleetwood Mac in 2015.

Her Manchester gig on Tuesday has also been postponed but the singer is set to return for two nights at London’s Hyde Park next Friday and Saturday.

A post shared on the OVO Hydro’s Facebook page, just hours before the gig said the singer needed a “few days of recovery” after having a minor surgical procedure on her leg.

The venue operator said rescheduled dates would be announced soon.

The American singer joined Fleetwood Mac in 1975, helping them become one of the most successful music acts of all time with more than120 million records sold.

Rumours, the band’s second album with Nicks, became one of the best-selling albums worldwide.

As a solo artist, Nicks has enjoyed success with albums such as Bella Donna which peaked at 11 in the UK albums charts and The Other Side of the Mirror which reached number three in 1989.

Last week, American singer Megan thee Stallion also cancelled her Glasgow gig that was set to take place on Saturday at short notice.

She said this was due to construction at the venue.

Susan Kerr and her daughter, Ellena, travelled from Edinburgh to see the singer

Susan Kerr from Edinburgh said she was very disappointed with the news.

“We’ve travelled, so we could have been told this morning. But we’re staying overnight so we’ll make the most of it.”

She said her hotel cost £150 each for her and her daughter and a further £20 each for travel expenses.

The tickets cost £189 for the concert and Susan took the day off work as well.

Her daughter, Ellena, was also due to see her in Manchester on Tuesday, but it has also been postponed.
