ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Monroe County officials highlighted infrastructure improvements planned for the near future Monday, as they wrapped up a four part State of the County press tour.
County Executive Adam Bello talked about upgrades at Innovative Field to meet MLB requirements, an improved entry to the Seneca Park Zoo, and a number of sidewalk rehabilitation projects.
The event also highlighted the $32 million renovation project at the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport. Officials say the project will modernize terminals, enhance parking, pick-up, and drop-off areas, and add new dining options.
“Taken together these improvements will help ensure we keep our standing as a top 10 small airport by providing passengers and visitors with the highest quality travel experience,” Bello said.
Bello said the airport renovation project created 75 local jobs. Construction is already under way.
