Stacey Solomon gave herself a black eye while trying to a build a coop for her new ducklings, after she revealed her plans to quit showbiz and be a stay-at-home mum.
The Loose Women panellist, 34, has been building her Pickle Cottage and recently homed two ducklings – for which she has already built a play pen.
But taking to Instagram on Tuesday morning, Stacey revealed that after an impulsive late night decision to build the coop for the ducklings in dim lighting, she accidentally gave herself a black eye.
A cut could be seen in the middle of Stacey’s left eye where she had dropped part of the coop on it during building.
‘I thought “If I don’t put it up right this second I won’t put it up until the weekend”,’ she said. ‘And any normal person would say “It’s fine put it up at the weekend, they’re not going to be in that coop for another six weeks” but my toxic trait is if there’s something in front of me I have to do it immediately.

‘So I persisted to build a duck coop in literally dusk, dusk lighting and I got to the roof, got to the triangle bit on the roof and dropped it on my eye [laughs].
‘Ugh why am I like this? So that’ll be fun at the shoot tomorrow. It will probably be worse tomorrow. It’s always worse the day after the day after.’
Her injury did not stop her expressing her excitement however, as she added: ‘But it was worth it. I’ll show the coop it looks really good.
‘I’ve still got to do the base and dig out the pond but it is really cool and I’m very excited.’
Stacey revealed the two new additions to her family on Instagram last week, as she shared a video of two of her children Rex, five, and Rose, two, cuddling the ducklings, as she asked fans for name ideas.
She wrote: ‘Welcome To Pickle Cottage Little Ones. We are so excited to love you & we hope you love living here & being a part of our crazy family. We have no idea what to call our new babies yet, so any suggestions welcome.
‘Honestly wanted to make our garden home to ducklings for so long so thank you @luisazissman from giving us the opportunity to raise your hatchlings.’
Days later, Stacey issued an update on her duckling journey, as she shared a video of her and Rex building a play pen for them.
Stacey revealed last week that she’s ‘giving up her showbiz career to become a stay-at-home mother’ to her five children

‘Duckling DIY,’ she said. ‘I think they LOVE their new play pen. Honestly the way they zoomed around as soon as I put them in.
‘I Decided to make a duck run today (with the help of Rexy)! They have been growing rapidly so before I finish their outdoor area & they’re allowed outside I thought I’d make them a run.’
Stacey said she planned to add an extra course on top of the pen to make it higher as she worried the ducklings may jump out.
She added: ‘They’re so sweet and bouncy and inquisitive it’s so much fun to watch! The kids added some of their toys too.
‘Anyway sorry for the duck spam but I can’t help it! If I’ve done anything wrong here or you have any ideas just let me know. I’ve researched and asked in pet centres but I’m a new duck mum so I don’t know everything yet!’
Her family’s new additions came as she revealed her plans to become a stay-at-home mother for her five children and virtually give up TV shows.
Stacey told the Glad We Had This Chat podcast that she’s going to try and only work on ventures that can be done at home apart from the occasional ‘passion project’.

She said her older two sons have now reached an important stage in their lives, and she also wants to spend more time with her youngest three, who she had with husband Joe Swash, than she did with her first two boys when they were small.
Stacey is mother to eldest son Zachary, 16, from her relationship with former boyfriend Dean Cox, a second son Leighton, 12, fathered by her ex-fiancé Aaron Barnham, and Rex, first daughter Rose and a second Belle, 15 months, with her now husband, former EastEnders actor Joe.
Since first finding fame singing on The X Factor, Solomon has carved out a busy TV career in a host of shows including Celebrity Juice, Celebrity Gogglebox, Loose Women, and most recently Stacey Solomon’s Craft Christmas and Stacey Solomon’s Renovation Rescue.
