Speedy Hire is celebrating a deal with infrastructure giant Amey that could be worth up to £25m a year.

The core hire and solutions contract will see the Haydock-based tool hire group plant hire to Amey’s operations in sectors including including rail, highways and public estates. It says a “significant proportion” of that work will include eco-products, including H-Power Generators from Speedy Hydrogen Solutions and battery storage units from Green Power Hire.

Speedy says the contract, which will bring in revenue of up to £25m per annum, will begin during the second half of its financial year “subject to a transition period to allow for a seamless integration”.

Speedy Hire’s chief executive Dan Evans said: “We are delighted to commence our relationship with Amey, by securing this new contract which is testament to our leadership position in our sector, along with our ability to service major customers with commercially sustainable products and services.

“Our Velocity strategy positions Speedy Hire strongly to continue to support all our customers, which we are very pleased now includes Amey.”

John Faulkner, chief operating officer at Amey, said: “We are delighted to enter a new partnership with Speedy Hire as a trusted provider of the sustainable products and services we require that play an important part in meeting our sustainability targets.

“This new contract signifies a strategic alliance between Amey and Speedy Hire in our common goals to play a critical role in protecting the natural environment while accelerating the UK’s transition to Net Zero.”
