Following their dramatic 2-1 victory over France in the semi-final, Morata was celebrating with his teammates when a pitch invader approached him for a selfie. Security personnel intervened, but one guard slipped and collided with Morata’s knee.
Footage shows Morata in visible discomfort, limping and clutching his knee. The celebratory mood quickly turned to concern, with the Atletico Madrid forward appearing troubled throughout the post-match festivities.
“We have to wait and see tomorrow,” said a cautious Spain manager Luis de la Fuente. “We believe it’s nothing serious, but it hurts him.”
This incident adds to UEFA’s woes regarding pitch invaders during the tournament. Similar disruptions occurred during Portugal’s match and even involved Kylian Mbappé. UEFA responded by tightening security measures, but this latest incident highlights the ongoing challenge.

Spain now awaits the winner of the England vs. Netherlands clash, scheduled for Wednesday.
