Spain floods: at least 95 dead as hopes fade for finding survivors

Hopes have all but faded for finding survivors after flash floods wrought massive destruction and claimed at least 95 lives in southeast Spain.

It is feared that the death toll could rise substantially because the exact number of missing people is unknown.

Margarita Robles, the defence minister, said she was not optimistic about the death toll stabilising. She said teams on Thursday would start combing through the mud and debris with sniffer dogs.
