In between co-op missions or 6v6 matches, players can hang out on the Battle Barge and admire each others’ drip. The Sparring Arena lets players duke it out with all of their weapons and grenades, which I can assure you is very faithful to the novels. For those who just want to play with a couple of pals, players can play through Operations in a private lobby and avoid matchmaking with randoms.
The Eternal War game mode in particular has proven popular; there’s a healthy community of fans creating mismatched Space Marine sets and dubbing them Crayola Warriors, practicing the perfect sniping angles, and carefully choosing the perfect helmet for their Vanguard. I’m also interested to see what Saber does with Operations. The developer shared a road map that included new Operations, game modes like Horde, and other content through 2025.
While Saber has not specified much about what the new Operations might entail, I’m looking forward to seeing the details. I’ve enjoyed playing a little Space Marine 2 with pals, and I’ve enjoyed the co-op gameplay more than I expected.
For now, fans can content themselves with ultrawide support. The patch also contains some tweaks to player customization; players can reset custom armor and color sets to default models instantly. In addition, some armor sets have been corrected to the chapter’s proper color. The full patch notes, which include quality-of-life fixes, balance changes, and other tweaks, can be found on Space Marine 2’s Steam page.
