Southampton teacher to star in new series of The Traitors

Must read

Joe, an English teacher, is one of two Hampshire residents to star in series three of the reality show.

Originally from Yorkshire, the 37-year-old now lives on the south coast, but will be at Ardross Castle in Scotland on our screens when the show premieres tonight at 8pm.

“Because I’m a teacher, my life is based around planning,” Joe told the BBC.

“I have to plan for every moment, every possible question, everything that could go wrong.

“So, I think I’m already going to be in that mode, and I think it will be helpful. I think I’ll be more tactical with things.

“I think I’ll read between the lines, I won’t listen to just what’s being said, I’ll think about what’s not being said.”

Joe admitted that if he is picked as a traitor, he will feel ‘instantly guilty’ regardless of what happens.

He said: “It’s like when you go through the airport and you go through the check in and it’s like, oh, have I got a weapon on me?

“When you know you don’t, but you just feel paranoid. So, I think to be chosen as one you’re already going to feel paranoid.”

“I’m nearly 40 and I can’t drive,” he said.

“I wouldn’t mind owning a pub. I’ve always said I’d quite fancy being a landlord like Peggy Mitchell, but I don’t know anything about pubs other than ordering a pint in them.”

She said: “I wear my heart on my sleeve, and everyone always says they know what I’m thinking.

“I think the thing with being a Traitor is that it gives you safety initially.

“But from that moment on, it’s the other Traitors that are going to turn on you and each other.”

The Traitors series three starts at 8pm on BBC One tonight (New Year’s Day).
