Arne Slot has confirmed that Fabian Otte will be joining his coaching staff in a further break from Jurgen Klopp ‘s time as manager.

Slot was officially unveiled as Liverpool’s new boss on Tuesday evening, with Klopp having left his role at the end of last season. The German was followed out of the door by the majority of his coaching staff.

Assistant Pepijn Lijnders has taken over as Red Bull Salzburg manager, with Klopp’s elite development coach Vitor Matos becoming his number two. Peter Krawietz, Jack Robinson, Andreas Kornmayer and Andreas Schlumberger have all also departed.

Slot had already announced replacements for most of those men, though head of goalkeeping John Achterberg also joined his assistant Robinson in leaving. Achterberg will move to Al-Ettifaq, where Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is manager.

Until now, Slot had not revealed who will take over from Acherberg from his arrival. The new Reds boss has now made his move, with Otte confirmed as the new head of goalkeeping at Anfield.

Otte joins Sipke Hulshoff (assistant head coach) and Ruben Peeters (lead physical performance coach) as Slot’s trusted staff. He has experience of the Premier League, having previously served as Burnley’s assistant goalkeeping coach.

He is currently with the US national team, having only joined them in January. But Slot has revealed that Otte will arrive on Merseyside following the conclusion of the Copa America, which the US is hosting.
