Slightly more miles for the Iron to travel in 2024-25

Must read

United will travel slightly more miles completing their National League North fixtures next season – 74 more than in the last campaign in fact.

Last season, the team travelled 5,036 miles to complete their 23 regular away league games, but they will travel 5,110 to take on the sides in the National League North next season.

The regionalised nature of the division means United to continue to have no trips to face teams over 200 miles away. Coupled with that, there are 10 teams in a radius of 100-miles from the Attis Arena.

As last season, the shortest trip of the season will see Scunthorpe face Farsley Celtic, while one mile further in distance will take us to Alfreton Town.

The longest trip of the season will see the Iron return to Edgar Street to face Hereford, while one mile less is league newcomers Needham Market, who replace Gloucester City as a side 173 miles from the Iron’s stadium. Oxford City is also added to the Iron’s list of long distance sides, while Marine and Leamington also come into the league as trips over 100 miles away.

Meanwhile Blyth Spartans’ relegation out of the league, and Kidderminster Harriers’ relegation into the league is a near like for like switch in terms of mileage.

Northern Premier League Premier Division Champions Radcliffe are the sixth shortest opponents for Scunthorpe.
