Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly set out five new rules that the manager of Manchester United will have to adhere to.Ā
Doubt still remains over Erik ten Hag’s futureĀ despite the 54-year-old making one final case to keep his job after beating Manchester City to lift the FA Cup.Ā
The likes of Roberto De Zerbi,Ā Kieran McKenna, Thomas Frank, Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio PochettinoĀ are part of the shortlist if Ten Hag departs.Ā
As reported by The Sun, whoever comes through the door will have to follow strict rules set out by Ratcliffe as he continues to make dramatic changes after a dismal season.Ā
It includes the new manager having to follow a style of play set out by new technical director Jason Wilcox.Ā

Recently asked if he will make a move for free agent Kylian Mbappe this summer, Ratcliffe told The Geraint Thomas Cycling Club podcast: ‘I’d rather find the next Mbappe than spend a fortune trying to buy success. It’s not that clever, is it, buying Mbappe, in a way?Ā
‘Anyone could figure that one out. Much more challenging is to find the next Mbappe or Jude Bellingham or the next Roy Keane.’Ā
Another order from Ratcliffe will be that the manager will be asked which areas he wants to strengthen rather than players he wants to sign.Ā
