MAN UTD TRANSFER NEWS LIVE: All the latest deals and rumours from Old Trafford

It comes a week after he watched his beloved Red Devils beat rivals Manchester City 2-1 in the FA Cup final at Wembley.

The legendary boss was spotted in the company of Dougie Freedman, the sporting director of Crystal Palace.

The pictures showed Ferguson and Freedman, 50, exiting the bar, which has attracted many high-profile patrons.

Among them are Princess Anne, Lady Margarita Armstrong-Jones and Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece, according to Tatler, along with the Beckhams, Prince William and Arsenal star Declan Rice earlier this year.

Ferguson is said to be a mentor to Freedman, with the pair first meeting when the Eagles upset Man Utd in the League Cup in 2011 before becoming neighbours when he joined Bolton.

When leaving Oswald’s, Ferguson stopped to sign some autographs and pose for pictures before heading into a car.

He is expected to be back at Wembley for tonight’s Champions League final between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund, where on-loan Man Utd star Jadon Sancho may play a big part.

Freedman was named among the targets Man Utd’s new co-owners Ineos wanted to appoint as a head of recruitment as part of their behind-the-scenes overhaul.

Interest for him was also forthcoming from Newcastle for him to replace Man Utd-bound Dan Ashworth before he signed a new deal to stay at Crystal Palace, where he has been since 2019.

However, The Athletic’s Chris Waugh has suggested Freedman is still “keen” on the Toon job.
