BARGAIN hunters have been left stunned after discovering their local dump has its own shop – with toys and clothes priced from just £1.
The Reuse Shop sells pre-loved items donated by residents for rock-bottom prices.
With gardening season in full swing, they have second-hand lawnmowers, strimmers and even electric weeders in store from £15 – plus a range of plant pots.
Staff also urge shoppers to “come and grab a bargain” with clothing and toys being flogged for only a quid.
Beyond that, other bargains include children’s shoes for £2.50, TVs from £15 and bedroom furniture that’s perfect for an upcycling project.
There’s also tins of paint and wallpaper for DIY projects, stacks of golf clubs and outdoor toys for the kiddies.
The treasure trove for pre-loved goods is located at Hazlehead Household Waste and Recycling Centre in Aberdeen and is open seven days a week.
Social media users have since revealed some of the top bargains they’ve picked up.
Talking about her visit, one mum said: “I don’t know about your local skip but my one has a shop.
“I really want to save money where I can so going to the skip is definitely a good idea.
“We checked out the kids outdoor toys. They had loads of bikes and scooters and even this ride-on tractor.”
But the item she said she had to take home was a classic red and yellow Little Tykes car.
She added: “These Little Tykes cars literally scream childhood to me but I’ve never actually bought it for my children because they’re about £70 and that just seems wild.
“But this very old and rundown car was only £4 so I of course had to take it home. It’s going to be the most perfect upcycling project for my son’s 2nd birthday.”
Another shopper revealed she bagged a bike for £20 and then flipped it for £220.
And someone else said she found bikes and scooters “all still in good condition and so cheap”.
Meanwhile, other savvy shoppers have been left astounded that such a shop exists.

“What an incredible idea, I wish we had one of these in Edinburgh”, gushed one.
A second exclaimed: “Whattttt a shop at the skip? That sounds so fun.”
“How cool is the shop though? They do loads of paints etc too”, said a third.
A fourth admitted: “Wow I had no idea this existed, maybe need to take a wee drive and check it out.”
A fifth chimed in: “Omggg never thought of this for outdoor toys!! Definitely going to try.”
“I wish our skip shop looked like this”, sighed a sixth.
Employee Mandy Reid has worked in the shop since it first opened, and has more than two decades of experience working in charity shops.
She told the Press and Journal: “I think people like to come into these shops because you just never know what you’re going to find.
“You might find a gem, and you might find a one-off vintage piece that you’re just not going to get on the high street.
“I think that’s the beauty of these shops.”
The Reuse Shop is operated by SUEZ Recycling and Recovery UK in partnership with the local council.

But if you were planning on making a day of it and travelling through from outwith Aberdeen, don’t bother.
For both buying and donating the shop is open to residents of Aberdeen only so you will need to bring proof of address, either in paper or electronic form.
