Shocking reason Sebastian Stan had to cancel his Actors on Actors interview after no star wanted to take part

Must read

Sebastian Stan has revealed why he didn’t take part in Variety’s most recent Actors on Actors segment.

Stan has previously featured on the series, chatting with Friends alum Jennifer Aniston.

In their discussion, which was released two years ago, Aniston said that Stan would have been ‘great’ on the well-loved sitcom and compared him to Joey Tribbiani.

But Stan said he ‘always came closest to Chandler’, played by the late Matthew Perry, when he discussed it with his own pals.

“I get very, sort of, neurotic,” he shared, “and I used to just die laughing.”

The Marvel star was supposed to star on Actors on Actors for a second time, but he was forced to cancel his appearance.

The reason why? Politics.

Speaking at a recent screening for his upcoming movie The Apprentice (where the 42-year-old plays a young Donald Trump), Stan explained the situation to the audience.

“I had an offer to do Variety’s Actors on Actors this Friday, and I couldn’t find another actor to do it with me because they were too afraid to to go and talk about the movie,” he said.

“It doesn’t matter, that’s okay,” Stan continued, “that’s not to point a finger at anybody. […] That’s not pointing at anyone specifically.

“We couldn’t get past the publicist – the people representing them – because they were too afraid to talk about this movie.”

He went on: “That’s when I think we lose the situation. Because if it really becomes like that fear or that discomfort to talk about this, then we’re really going to have a problem.”

UNILAD have approached Variety for comment.

Trump himself has spoken out on the film about him, and he doesn’t seem to be in favor of it.

Writing on his social media platform Truth Social, the president-elect said: “A FAKE and CLASSLESS Movie written about me, called, The Apprentice (Do they even have the right to use that name without approval?), will hopefully ‘bomb’.”

Trump continued in the scathing post: “It’s a cheap, defamatory, and politically disgusting hatchet job, put out right before the 2024 Presidential Election, to try and hurt the Greatest Political Movement in the History of our Country.

“My former wife, Ivana, was a kind and wonderful person, and I had a great relationship with her until the day she died. The writer of this pile of garbage, Gabe Sherman, a lowlife and talentless hack, who has long been widely discredited, knew that, but chose to ignore it.”

Basically, I don’t think Trump will be rushing to watch The Apprentice in the theater…
