Shannen Doherty’s contentious divorce from Kurt Iswarienko finalized by family law judge two days AFTER her death

A family law judge has granted the late Shannen Doherty‘s final wish to die a divorced woman rather than a married woman in the state of California.

In a rare posthumous assist, the judge signed off the divorce settlement between the 53-year-old former child star and her estranged third husband Kurt Iswarienko on Monday – two days after she passed away following an eight-year battle with metastatic Stage 4 breast cancer.

TMZ reported Thursday that Shannen’s powerhouse attorney Laura Wasser ‘worked furiously to settle the divorce terms in the last week of her life.’

Doherty and the 50-year-old photographer – who did not sign a prenuptial agreement – had been legally separated for 15 months amid allegations he cheated, and they were married for 11 years.

As recent as last month, the Let’s Be Clear podcaster accused Kurt of delaying the legal process to avoid paying her the $15,434 per month in spousal support and $140K in legal fees she had requested.

‘It is simply not right that Kurt be permitted to prolong our divorce in hopes that I die before he is required to pay me while he continues to live his life and shirk his responsibilities to his dying wife of more than 11 years,’ Shannen stated in legal docs.

Iswarienko – whose average annual income is $672,916 – fired back through his attorney Katherine Heersema, stating that Doherty was offered a settlement deal last October but denied it.

‘Kurt is not “simply wait[ing] for Shannen to die.” He wants the best for Shannen and he wants both of them to be able to put this case behind them and move forward,’ Heersema responded.

The Tennessee-born brunette said she denied the proposed settlements because they ‘skirted around the issues of his original works created during marriage’ and ‘his earning capacity.’

But last Friday, Shannen – was hoping to ‘squeeze out another three to five years’ – signed a legal filing to waive spousal support and the Picturekid-repped photographer signed the docs on Saturday (the day she died).

The former couple – who owned a vacation home in Texas – had settled the terms of their divorce with Doherty receiving the Malibu residence, various cars, and a Salvador Dalí painting.

Kurt received an airplane, various cars, and a Les Paul guitar.

In April, the Charmed alum claimed Iswarienko had informed her he’d ‘been carrying on an affair’ with his agent Collier Grimm ‘for two years’ right before her 2023 brain surgery, but he claimed they’d already be en ‘living separate lives’ for those years.

Shannen – who underwent a mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and more chemotherapy – is survived by her mother Rosa Doherty and beloved pet German Shepherd Bowie.

In January, Doherty said on her iHeartRadio podcast that she wanted some of her cremated remains to eventually be mixed with her dog and her late father Tom Doherty and spread in Malibu, and the rest of her remains should be ‘grown into a tree’ as fertilizer.

The Hot Seat actress’ final screen role was portraying Vivian opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme in James Cullen Bressack’s spy thriller Darkness of Man, which was released VOD on May 21 in the States and June 10 on DVD in the UK.

‘The cast will be sharing words about her and will put together a montage of Shannen and Luke Perry’s iconic scenes. His death really had an impact on Shannen and this seems like a fitting tribute,’ a source close to Doherty told DailyMail.com on Tuesday.

‘Without Shannen, 90210 would have never achieved the level of success it did. She was a pivotal part of their rise to fame and they all know this. They will honor her with a memorial in Florida and are all looking forward to it.’
