SFA hammered by Uefa after Scotland fans ‘throw objects’

And so too have the Scottish Football Association – for the BEHAVIOUR of the Tartan Army.

It’s estimated more than 100,000 piled into Marienplatz and surrounding areas for the big kick-off.

They drank Munich bars dry and partied pre-match – so much so that the fanzone in Olympiapark and the main square in the city was shut off due to the mass of people.

But an incident inside the Munich Football Arena has seen the SFA hammered.

Hampden officials will be on the receiving end of a €5625 bill as punishment for ‘throwing of objects’ at the game.

That charge and punishment is in addition to the punishment for Porteous and the pain of a 5-1 hammering at the hands of the hosts.

The ex-Hibs defender’s horror challenge on Ilkay Gundogan just before half-time left BBC pundit Willie Miller feeling sick.

Clement Turpin flashed the first red card of the competition and Uefa have also taken a dim view of the wild lunge that resulted in the Watford player’s dismissal and a penalty converted by Kai Havertz.

That was Germany‘s third goal of the 5-1 rout and the fall-out continues from a disappointing defeat for the Tartan Army who are on the move to Cologne ahead of the match with Switzerland.

Porteous won’t be involved in that game – nor the final group match with Hungary – after landing a two-match ban.

Bill Leckie and Robert Grieve dissect last night’s 5-1 defeat to Germany

Yesterday in his press conference Steve Clarke confirmed the centre-half was feeling “very down” and was one of the cuddles dished out as he utilised his man management skills around the camp by consoling some and ‘kicking backsides’ with others.

He said: “(I’ve had to) kick a couple of backsides, give some cuddles, make the players understand why the Germany result happened and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

He added: “I’ve spoken to one or two players around the squad whose opinion I value.

“I had a good chat with a few of them.

“I explained the situation. It doesn’t look good. Ryan didn’t want to make that challenge, he wanted to stop a goal.
