Must read

Over a dozen people are trapped on the Vortex ride at Sea World.

A spokesperson at the theme park on the Gold Coast told Daily Mail Australia ’13 people’ have been trapped on the Vortex ride since 3pm, with the incident ‘still unfolding’.

‘We are experiencing a ride stoppage on one of our rides this afternoon,’ the spokesperson said.

‘We have communicated with all of them and they are safe and in good spirits.’

The Vortex invites thrill-seekers to ‘twist, turn and spin like never before, spiralling 15 metres above sea level’.

This ride reaches 30km per hour and spins 360 degrees.

It comes just days after another Sea World Ride caused around 20 guests to become trapped last week.

Riders became stuck on the wooden Leviathan rollercoaster at 2.30pm on Thursday after a sensor activated. They were assisted off the ride by park staff.
