SCOTS shoppers can look forward to a brand new Asda superstore.
The retail giant is set to bring its famous green branding to Stirling.
The city already boasts two smaller Asda stores in Kildean and Cruive Dykes.
But it’s good news for pocket-tapping punters with the Yorkshire-based company opening a huge superstore south of Springkerse Retail Park.
The new establishment will offer a large selection of fresh foods, clothing, wines and spirits and home and leisure goods.
And in a huge boost to the local economy, the multi-million-pound business will bring 350 jobs to the area, according to The Courier.
The new site will also house a car showroom, offices and a vehicle refuelling hub.
It comes after a study suggested city residents can’t access the four major supermarket chains.
A report claimed that Stirling currently doesn’t provide easy access to all four of the major supermarket chains.
It also suggested that supermarkets in the Stirling area are currently overtrading by around £10 million.
Its reported that councillors felt it would reduce the risk of locals leaving the area to shop elsewhere.
Elsewhere Asda shoppers were left gutted after discovering the retailer had discontinued a favourite item.
