Scotland players had been due to go for a walk in Stuttgart as they look to win against Hungary.

Yet Sky Sports say they’ve had to change plans due to the sheer amount of supporters outside their team hotel.

Scotland fans have been in good voice out in Germany, with supporters hoping they’ll be able to cheer their side on to victory.

They have never made the knockout stages of a European Championships in their entire history.

But with big players such as McTominay, John McGinn and Andy Robertson, Scotland fans fancy their team to get the result they need.

Clarke says his team ‘feel good’ as they prepare to face Hungary, though is keen to avoid a repeat of the past.

At Euro 2020 three years ago, they were beaten by Croatia and sent crashing out of the competition following a midfield masterclass from Luka Modric.

Clarke wants his team to prove lessons have been learned, saying: “We feel good.

“We thought it might come down to needing to get something from the last game. That’s the stage we are at now.

“We’ve been in this position before. Hopefully, when we get to the last game, the proof of the pudding will be in the eating. That’s what we are aiming for.”

He continued: “It’s nothing except the three points for us – that’s all we are thinking about.

“We’ve had good training sessions and a lot of recovery, a lot of rest.

“When the players cross the white line they have to put that into practice on the pitch and hopefully you will see the results at the end.”

Clarke insists Hungary won’t be easy, however, and believes his team are set for a huge test in Germany tonight.

“When you look at their record over the last few years, Hungary have been building towards this,” he continued.

“They are a good team. They are well organised, have good discipline without the ball and are a threat when they do have the ball.

“We expect a difficult game and I’m sure the Hungarians are also expecting a difficult game from us. It’s two similar teams with two similar systems.”

McGinn, meanwhile, has two Hungarian cousins.

But he wants his Hungarian-supporting relative, Tomas, to feel ‘sad’ on Monday.

“When the draw was made my brother Joe and cousins Mark and Tomas were in touch,” said the Aston Villa star.

“They were born in Scotland but are half-Hungarian.

“One wants Scotland to win, while one wants Hungary to come out on top. I just hope it’s young Tomas who is sad on Monday!

“For them, going to school every day, it’s nice for them to share the surname, but I’m not sure their pals believe who their cousin is.

“They were over for the Liverpool game on the last day of the season and were more interested in Dominik Szoboszlai than their big cousin.”
