Citizens of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, from May 1 to October 31, 2024, may enter and stay in Montenegro for up to 30 days with a valid travel document without a visa.

The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Tirana, Albania, through a recent announcement, stated that only organized tourist groups that enter the country and depart with direct flights are entitled to a visa exemption, VisaGuide.World reports.

Visas may be obtained from diplomatic and consular posts in Montenegro. If you are unable to reach a diplomatic or consular post of Montenegro, you may apply for a visa at the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Montenegro Entry Requirements for Saudi Tourists

In addition, the Embassy added that proof of payment of travel arrangement fees, an invitation letter from the tourist office in Montenegro and evidence of return to the country of origin are now also required.

The Embassy further revealed that the total exchange of goods between these two countries in the period January – September 2020 reached €14.680, of which exports are €7.170 and imports €7.510.

Foreign direct investments from January to September 2020 amounted to €872.240. In 2019, foreign direct investments amounted to €884.920 thousand.

Saudi Citizens Could Enter Albania, Kosovo & Montenegro Without Visas Last Year

Previously, Saudi citizens had the right to enter three Balkan countries until the end of 2023 without a visa. The countries in question included Albania, Kosovo and Montenegro.

At the same time, citizens from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and Thailand had the right to enter Albania and Kosovo without a visa from April 20, 2023, to December 31, 2023 and Montenegro until October 31.

Following the conditions listed for visiting Montenegro, Saudi citizens should travel with a tour group and not alone. In this regard, the Embassy emphasized that they must arrive in the country with a direct flight from the Kingdom.

As for traveling to North Macedonia, another Balkan country, Saudis can enter if they have a Schengen visa, a United States visa, a United Kingdom visa or an Australian visa, provided that it is multiple-entry, valid and previously used.

As of May 2024, the Montenegrin passport is ranked 76th in the world according to the VisaGuide Passport Index. As a result, Montenegrin citizens can travel visa-free to 96 countries worldwide. On the other hand, to enter the remaining countries, Montenegrin passport holders must apply for a visa in advance.
