Jadon Sancho has returned to Manchester United training following a meeting with manager Erik ten Hag this week.
The 24-year-old trained away from United’s first team since September after refusing to apologise to manager Erik ten Hag following a dispute around his involvement in the defeat at Arsenal on September 3, 2023.
Sancho re-joined former club Borussia Dortmund on a loan deal in January, with three goals in 21 appearances to help the Bundesliga club reach the Champions League final — where they lost 2-0 to Real Madrid.
Sancho returned to United’s facilities this week with the first-team’s squad return to training.
The England international will not travel to Norway for United’s pre-season friendly against Rosenborg on July 15, as he resumed training a few days later than his fellow team-mates — due to his participation in the Champions League final with Dortmund.
However, he will be available for selection after that with the expectation that he will take full part in United’s pre-season.
The Athletic reported in the DealSheet that United had been open to offers for Sancho and were hoping to recoup £40million for the winger.
Sancho, who is one of United’s top earners, joined United in an £85m move from Dortmund in 2021.
Dortmund only had the resources to sign him on loan this summer, while other clubs in Europe had been monitoring the situation. Juventus are looking for reinforcements out wide this summer and have a longstanding interest in Sancho.
