Samsung Insider Reveals Powerful Galaxy S25 Ultra Decision

Must read

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra will be the flagship smartphone not only of the Galaxy S range but also of Samsung’s advanced generative AI. The latest details on the specs suggest that the South Korean company has found a way to improve the speed it takes to process AI routines.

Noted commentator IceUniverse reports that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will ship with more memory than the current Galaxy S handsets.

While their track record on details from inside Samsung is strong, the simple call that the “S25 Ultra will definitely have 16GB RAM “ leaves several questions; the main one will be if 16 GB RAM is going to be universal across the full range of Ultra models? The Galaxy S24 Ultra is available with three storage options (256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB) all with 12 GB of RAM. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S24 and S24+ have models available with 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. The former would suggest that 16 GB would be universal, but the latter shows that Samsung is happy to offer a wide range of specs. It’s possible that the 16 GB of memory could be reserved for the 1 TB model.

There is a solid argument to ensure all the available variants of the Galaxy S25 Ultra sport 16 GB of RAM, which comes from the latest Pixel 9 Pro models from Google. Nearly 4 GB of RAM in each of these models is reserved for Google AI routines. Introduced alongside Google’s advances in generative AI, this guarantees faster operation as a portion of memory is dedicated to AI.

When Samsung launched Galaxy AI in January 2024, several features echoed those of Google’s first generative AI software found on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. It’s a good bet that a similar approach will be taken this year. And if the software is coming over, why not also the requirement for reserved RAM? The user experience would match the current 12 GB S24 Ultra baseline but with an added bonus around the second generation of Galaxy AI.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S25 Ultra alongside the full S25 range and an update to Galaxy AI in mid-January 2025.
