Samsung Alters Galaxy S25 Launch Strategy; New Rumor Claims No Model Will Launch With The Dimensity 9400 Except For The More Affordable Galaxy S25 FE

Must read

The Galaxy S25 series launch, which is slated to happen early next year, is bombarded with a slew of rumors concerning its internal specifications. Samsung was previously reported to unveil the new lineup exclusively with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 as the company failed to improve its 3nm GAA yields, which meant that it was not financially viable to commence the Exynos 2500’s mass production.

However, the Korean giant was said to have experienced a sliver of hope where it would reduce its chipset expenditure massively by using the newly announced Dimensity 9400 in the base model. Sadly, that might not be possible as a tipster is said to have come across some ‘exclusive’ information regarding the negotiations happening between Samsung and MediaTek. Instead of the Galaxy S25 series getting treated to the new SoC, it is possible that the more affordable Galaxy S25 FE is treated to the Dimensity 9400.

New rumor does not mention anything about the Exynos 2500, suggesting that Samsung might take it off the table completely in favor of the Dimensity 9400

We reported about a rumor from Jukanlosreve stating that the Exynos 2500 would power the Galaxy S25 FE and Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip. The tipster is now said to have received a crucial update. Instead of the base Galaxy S25 featuring the Dimensity 9400, the Galaxy S25 FE will be powered by it. In terms of ‘price to performance,’ this would make the Galaxy S25 FE one of the most value-oriented flagships to be offered by the Korean giant, assuming it can also provide a competitive price with the chipset upgrade.

Jukanlosreve did not confirm where he received this information from, nor did he mention what will become of the Exynos 2500. While there is no way for us to confirm the following, Qualcomm might have become an obstruction to the deal materialized between Samsung and MediaTek. After all, who stands to benefit the most from a Galaxy S25 launch exclusively with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4?

You guessed it. Then again, it is not prudent to start pointing fingers at companies, but we have to remind readers that Qualcomm has been the target of antitrust watchdogs because of competition-stifling business practices. Of course, we will have all the answers to these lingering questions in the future, so stay tuned.
