There’s a chance for people in Saltdean to learn more about active travel later this month.
A community travel day will be taking place in Saltdean Park on Saturday 29 June.
It’s an opportunity for residents to speak to council officers about the benefits of walking and cycling around the city.
Activities will be taking place on Saltdean Park between 11am and 3pm.
- try an e-bike and cargo bike,
- get your bike fixed for free by Dr Bike,
- earn rewards for healthy and sustainable travel,
- take part in a family-friendly scavenger hunt and win a prize,
- learn about our local Healthwalks and the great benefits of walking.
The day has been organised by the council’s Active Travel team and funded by the Department for Transport.
It’s just part of a number of things the council does to encourage and support active travel in Brighton & Hove, including:
We’re also resurfacing dozens of the city’s roads, improving pedestrian and cycle infrastructure along the A23; have installed more than 150 cycle hangars across Brighton & Hove and making changes to improve bus journey times and reliability.
