Ruth Langsford reacts to fan’s cruel remark after Eamonn Holmes split news

Must read

Ruth Langsford has now addressed her recent split from husband Eamonn Holmes after they shocked fans by announcing the end of their 14-year marriage, in a reply to a fan on Instagram. The former This Morning pair, both at age 64, previously shared a joint statement via a spokesperson about their marital breakdown.

The Loose Women presenter shared a cosy moment with her mother and her dog Maggie in an Instagram video post. She captioned the video, set to Anton Du Beke’s ‘Putting On The Ritz’, as a “Lovely day spent with my darling Mum….sunshine, music, dancing, sherry, lunch, crosswords in the garden and Maggie….making memories Music by her favourite @mrantondubeke #sunday #family.”

Despite the affectionate nature of the video, one fan remarked that Maggie appeared to be quite sad. The follower had commented under the post saying: “Your mum looks great Ruth, but Maggie looks sad.”

Determined to defend her pet, Ruth issued a four-word reply: “I don’t see that.”

The presenter followed up with: “She is a very happy, contented, much-loved dog.” Many fans rallied to her side with one adding: “She’s literally smiling!”

Since parting ways with Eamonn, Ruth has taken a break from television and her regular spot on the Loose Women panel. Amidst rumours of Eamonn being “consoled” by another blond divorcee following the split, Ruth has kept her focus on QVC and continues to sport her wedding ring.

According to a report from The Sun, an insider stated: “Ruth will not be back on screen this week.”

It was further revealed that she had chosen to extend her brief sabbatical from ITV, therefore, she would not yet rejoin the Loose Women panel.

While presenting GB News last week, Eamonn acknowledged his break up publicly. Expressing gratitude towards viewers who posted supportive messages, he swiftly segued into the most pressing issues of the day.

However, despite everything, he was still seen honouring his marital status by wearing his wedding ring.

Although the couple split, sources have since revealed the pair remain in contact.

A source told The Sun: “Eamonn and Ruth are still in contact, they speak every day. Although they’ve separated, they’re still sharing their dog, Maggie, at the moment and of course they have their son, Jack.”
