Royal fans torn over Eugenie as she turns heads in Royal Ascot dress

Must read

Princess Eugenie turned heads in a mint green dress on Tuesday during Day one of Royal Ascot.

The princess of York donned Diane von Furstenberg’s Mallery midi dress (£461), which she paired with Aquazzura’s Bow Tie 85 beige suede heels (£645).

Eugenie accessorised the look with Anya Hindmarch’s Maud tassel clutch in bone (£625) and a bespoke Emily London Siniang hat in light beige (£1,250).

In a touching gesture, the royal wore her wedding diamond and emerald earrings which her a gift from her husband Jack.

However, Eugenie’s look failed to get the royal fans’ approval with many of them saying that the dress does not suit her.

One user wrote on Instagram: “Not the right dress for her, it doesn’t suit her.”

Another one agreed: “Not flattering for her at all. Not the colour, not the shape, not the fabric even the hat is a miss. I dont (sic) really like the sleeveless either.”

A third one said: “I don’t think the crisscross detail at the front suits Eugenie and neither does the colour. The shape is quite nice on her. She has a lovely curvy figure. The flower thing in her hair though.”

A fourth one added: “It’s a pretty dress but it doesn’t work for her. The color(sic) does, but not the shape or fit.”

However, there were others who liked the royal’s look.

One user wrote on Instagram: “She clearly has a new stylist. I love the look. She does not have an easy figure to dress and this really suits her, even if it does some odd wrinkles here and there.

“I think it might actually be due to her pose when the picture was taken. I think she looks great and very stylish. I was surprised to see a sleeveless dress as I thought that Ascot dress-code required covered shoulders (as well as covered knees).”

Another one added: “I love the dress! For me, I would have kept it long as pictured on the right. But nothing wrong with Princess Eugenie‘s choice of shortening the dress.”
