We are delighted to confirm the signing of goalkeeper Ted Sharman-Lowe on loan from Chelsea.

The 21-year-old arrives at the Eco-Power Stadium on loan from the Premier League giants  on season-long terms.

Sharman-Lowe started his footballing life in the Academy of hometown club Leicester City before moving to Burton Albion as a 14-year-old.

He was signed by Chelsea in 2020 and made his senior debut when loaned back to Burton for the 20/21 season, with appearances in the EFL Cup and EFL Trophy.

An England age group international, Sharman-Lowe made more than 20 appearances in the National League South after being loaned to Havant and Waterlooville in 2023 and spent time with Bromley last term.

Rovers goalkeeping coach Kyle Letheren said: “We identified Ted as one of our main targets and I’m delighted we’ve been able to bring him to the football club.

“As our fanbase are aware, we are a possession-based team and it was fundamental we brought in a goalkeeper that was strong in possession. Ted is exactly that.

“He is very highly-rated at Chelsea and comes to us with some really strong recommendations.

“After doing my home work on Ted, I feel we have one of the best young goalkeepers in the country. He’s a great size at 6ft4in and a really good shot stopper

“I feel like we are perfect fit for Ted and I’m excited to be working with another talented goalkeeper on a daily basis.”

Sharman-Lowe becomes Rovers’ sixth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Joe Sbarra, Jordan Gibson, Harry Clifton, Tom Nixon and Ephraim Yeboah.
