Riley Keough looks somber on outing – day before woman was charged with extorting her late mom Lisa Marie Presley

Must read

Riley Keough was spotted out in Calabasas, California on Thursday.

It was one day before a Missouri woman was charged with attempting to extort her late mother Lisa Marie Presley

The Max Max: Fury Road actress, 35, appeared somber as she sat on a bench alongside her husband Ben Smith-Petersen and their two-year-old daughter Tupelo.

Dressed in a simple white T-shirt and black biker shorts, Elvis Presley’s granddaughter sat barefoot, biting her lip as she perched on the bench.

The star kept a low profile, wearing a green baseball hat pulled low over her face and a pair of designer shades, while her stuntman husband played with their adorable baby girl.

The outing came hours before a 53-year-old woman was accused of orchestrating a wide-ranging scheme to extort the family of Elvis and steal his iconic Graceland home.

The suspect, named as Lisa Jeanine Findley, 53, was charged with mail fraud and aggravated identity theft on Friday by prosecutors.

Authorities claimed Findley has a long history of scams and frauds, and is known to use a number of aliases including Lisa Holden.

She allegedly tied herself to the home through false identities, post office boxes, and phone numbers, and was snared on Friday morning by ‘at least 15 cops’ descending on her home in Kimberling City, reports NBC News.

The plot was reportedly first put on the radar of investigators in May, after a company named Naussany Investments claimed in court that Lisa Marie Presley owed millions of dollars in unpaid loans

The claim raised eyebrows after Lisa Marie, Elvis’ only child, died in January 2023, leading the company to press surviving Presley family members for repayment

As Presley’s family refused to pay the loans, Naussany Investments attempted to force a foreclosure sale on Graceland – a move that was quickly halted by Tennessee courts

Lisa Marie’s eldest daughter and heir, Riley, became the sole trustee of the Promenade Trust that protects the assets of Elvis’s estate after her mother’s death, and counter-sued claiming fraud

In her lawsuit, she alleged that her late mother had never taken out a loan with Naussany Investments and that Lisa Marie’s signature had been forged.

After a Tennessee judge ruled that Naussany Investments had indeed forged the signature, it emerged that a person behind the company claimed to be a Nigerian scammer

According to NBC News, Findley was then connected to the Graceland plot in June, when she denied any knowledge of the allegations.

Findley is set to appear in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri on Friday, where she will stand accused of being the mastermind behind the scheme to force the sale of Graceland and make millions.

It was reported that when investigators looked into Naussany Investments, it was found that there were no records or evidence that the company ever existed.

After the bizarre legal battle involving the alleged Nigerian scamming system, Findley was connected to the company through a Facebook profile using the same name as the company.

When NBC News claimed to make the connection in June, they said a former acquaintance of Findley’s, Rasheed Jeremy Carballo, told the outlet that she had shared details of an alleged plot to steal Presley’s home.

At the end of July, Riley revealed plans to hit the road for a book tour in support of Lisa Marie’s memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown.

Riley played a key role in completing the book following her mother’s passing in January 2023, at the age of 54.

‘Sometimes the most famous among us are the least known. Join @RileyKeough for a one-of-a-kind conversation as she pays tribute to her mother Lisa Marie Presley‘s incredible memory with the release of their memoir, From Here to the Great Unknown’ publisher Random House said in a statement.

The company also revealed that Riley will be accompanied by a special guest in six cities.

The Daisy Jones and The Six star will kick off the book tour on October 9 in New York City, with subsequent stops in St. Louis, Nashville, and London.

The Nashville event will be held at Graceland, and the tour will wrap up in Los Angeles on October 20.

Lisa Marie’s memoir delves into her life’s challenging moments, including the loss of her father, Elvis, in 1977, her move to Los Angeles with her mother, Priscilla Presley, and her struggles with addiction.
