Richard Caring is set to seal his reputation as one of the hospitality industry’s leading dealmakers as he closes in on a £1 billion sale of The Ivy Collection.

The “King of Mayfair” is said to be close to selling most if not all of his controlling stake in the restaurant business to Si Advisers, a little-known investment firm.

The billionaire entrepreneur, who is famous for his extravagant parties, has defied the sceptics who doubted he could sell the glamour and glitz of London’s West End to the provinces.
