Overview of the role:

As Research Culture Manager, you will develop and implement strategies to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion in research. Your responsibilities will span data analysis to measure and report back on impact, and driving activities that support research integrity and transparency. You will create an environment that fosters research excellence and equity, working closely with external researchers and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Head of Communities, you will liaise with colleagues as well as external partners, committees and community groups to advance projects that improve the overall research culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Communities and stakeholders to develop and implement the research culture strategy and action plan
  • Oversee and support the implementation of a Code of Conduct
  • Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion through all activities and strategic framework
  • Analyse research culture data to identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement
  • Provide regular reports on progress toward research culture and equity, diversity, and inclusion goals
  • Maintain a consistent publication schedule of research culture-related content on the company website and newsletters
  • Review existing policies and propose new ones to address gaps
  • Conduct regular surveys to evidence the impact of the team’s work and influence narratives on outcomes
  • Represent the company on national and international bodies focused on improving research culture

We are looking for:

Strong project management, organisational, and communication skills are essential, along with a deep understanding of the research cycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion goals, a proven track record in managing projects, and the ability to analyse data and use it to inform strategic decisions.

An understanding of research integrity and the academic landscape (either from completion of postgraduate degree or relevant experience in the filed) as well as familiarity with open access publishing are desirable, but in no way essential requirements to be considered for the role.
