A new report provides more information about the plans for John Cena’s retirement tour.
At WWE Money in the Bank, John Cena announced that he would be retiring from WWE in 2025. He stated that he would be going on a farewell tour. Cena said it would include the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber, and WrestleMania 41. At the post-show press conference, Cena said that he would be working roughly 30-40 dates.
Sena Ross Sapp of Fightful (via Fightful Select) reports that John Cena’s retirement will be a “heavily promoted tour”. He writes that Cena is set to be around “fairly often” throughout 2025.
Per Sapp, WWE sources note there was some talk about how John Cena would be used and how many dates he would commit to, given his busy schedule outside of the company. Additionally, there have been conversations about how Cena will be used in WWE after he retires from the ring, but it was clear that he would be “seen on-screen again” after the conclusion of the tour.
Sapp also writes that several talent have indicated that they are angling or plan to angle in the hopes of working with Cena during the tour. Some stars have publicly expressed their interest on social media.
