Red Dead Redemption PC Port Seems To Finally Be Happening

Must read

Key Takeaways

  • Red Dead Redemption may finally be coming to PC, as metadata for the game is found in an update from Rockstar.
  • A product page on Steam has also been linked to Red Dead Redemption, suggesting that an announcement could be coming soon.
  • Right now, Red Dead Redemption is only available on Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.

Red Dead Redemption was seemingly just added to the Steam backend, as Rockstar rolls out updates for its PC games. This is despite the first Red Dead Redemption game never being available on PC, staying as a console exclusive.

Now, it’s being speculated that Red Dead Redemption is finally coming to PC. As spotted by Twitter user Tez2, metadata for the game was included in an update for Rockstar’s launcher, and there even seems to be a product page for the game on Steam too.

Rockstar Is Seemingly Preparing For A Red Dead Redemption PC Release

The Steam page in question doesn’t have a name yet, and is titled “SteamDB Unknown App 2668510”. However, the update to the Rockstar launcher reportedly links this to Red Dead Redemption.

If true, this would finally make both Red Dead Redemption games available on PC. The first game launched on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2010 and was only ever re-released on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

At this point, a PC port is all but guaranteed. Previous Rockstar updates have suggested as much, and a listing on the PlayStation store outright stated that the game is also available on PC. Combining that with today’s news, it seems like we’re just waiting for Rockstar to make it official now, as Red Dead Redemption joins the rest of its games on PC.

Right now, nothing is confirmed. Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on PC though, as that followed Rockstar’s trend of porting the game over some time after the initial launch.
