Must read

Red Dead Redemption is officially coming to PC. Rockstar Games announced that the game will make its way to PC on October 29.

The launch 14 years after its initial release for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

“For the first time in its storied legacy, John Marston’s beloved journey can be experienced on PC in stunning, new detail, with both Red Dead Redemption and its iconic zombie-horror companion story, Undead Nightmare, arriving to PC on October 29,” Rockstar said.

The release on PC comes with PC-specific enhancements for players. Those updates include native 4K resolution at 144Hz, Ultrawide and Super Ultrawide support, HDR10, and full mouse and keyboard functionality. There will also be support for AMD FSR 3.0 and Nvidia DLSS 3.7 and DLSS Frame Generation.

The game will be available on Steam, Epic Games Story, and the Rockstar Store. The game is also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

The Release Isn’t Unexpected

The announcement of Red Dead Redemption on PC comes as no surprise. There had been rumors, teases, and other signs signaling that the release could happen. The most telling one was when metadata for the game was found in a recent launcher update. Now, three weeks later, the reveal is official.

As far as the future of the series is concerned, rumors have claimed that Red Dead Redemption 3 is in the works at Rockstar. It was also said by the actor who plays Arthur Morgan, Roger Clark, that he believes a third game is the plan. Right now, however, the focus of Rockstar Games is the development of Grand Theft Auto 5, which is scheduled to release in 2025.
