Rarely seen royal introduces his new girlfriend to Charles with loved-up display

Must read

Peter Phillips appeared to have introduced his new girlfriend to the Royal Family, including King Charles.

Just weeks after their romance was confirmed, the loved-up couple made their Royal Ascot debut after being pictured at the parade ring.

Harriet Sperling, a NHS nurse and freelance writer, looked elegant in a pale pink Belulah London dress with a Nicold de Selincourt hat. She paired the look with an LK Bennett hat and a Aspinal of London bag.

The King’s nephew, who is the head of partner acquisition for the rights agency CSM Sport & Entertainment, looked smart in a morning black suit.

Prior to Royal Ascot, the couple were pictured putting on a loved-up display at the polo earlier this month.

Peter began dating Harriet after his three-year relationship with Lindsay Wallace came to an end earlier this year.

Lindsay had previously joined Peter at various royal events such as the King’s Coronation and the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Peter previously split from his ex-wife – and mother of his two daughters – Autumn in 2020. Their divorce was finalised in June 2021.

Earlier today, Peter and mother-of-one Harriet were pictured alongside the King and Queen in the Royal Box.

Harriet was previously introduced to the Queen at the Badminton Horse Trails back in May, as reported by The Telegraph.

Although the King was missing from Royal Ascot on Wednesday due to his ongoing cancer treatment, the monarch and Queen Camilla led the procession on day four of the event today.

The King shared a joke with jockey Tom Marquand after he won the Coronation Stakes race with Porta Fortuna during the trophies ceremony – as he prepared to ride the monarch’s horse Hard to Resist. His horse was a firm outsider, with odds of 50-1, and the King and Queen watched as it cantered down the green.

But their winces and face-pulling summed up another day of disappointment for the royal couple, as it failed to place – though it did fare better than expected, coming seventh out of 31 horses.

On Thursday their thoroughbred Gilded Water came 12th in the King George V Stakes. They’ll be hoping for better luck on Saturday when their prized horse Desert Hero returns to the race course.

The William Haggas-trained chestnut became Their Majesties first Royal Ascot winner last year and he’ll be racing in the Hardwicke Stakes.

Among the celebrities presenting the racing prizes was actress Dame Maureen Lipmanand the author Dame Jilly Cooper.
