Rainbow Six Siege $10 monthly subscription announcement met with boos from fans

Must read

Players working through the Rainbow Six Siege achievements will soon be able to dive into Year 9 Season 2’s content when it arrives next month. One new addition coming to one of the best Xbox FPS games, which upset the crowd when it was announced during the Manchester Major, is the Rainbow Six Siege R6 Membership, a subscription model for unlocking exclusive animated skins and premium battle pass access.

Rainbow Six Siege to get R6 Membership monthly subscription

According to Ubisoft’s announcement, the R6 Membership is an optional monthly subscription coming to Rainbow Six Siege on June 11, offering players the ” ultimate Rainbow Six Siege experience.” The membership will be available for $10 per month or via a yearly purchase of $80 and offers subscribers an “exclusive drop of content every month.”

Each month, R6 members will receive a time-limited legendary item and an epic operator bundle, the premium battle pass with ten battle pass level unlocks, and a Bravo pack. All in, you’ll get around 4,500 credits worth of content.

Ubisoft says that players who subscribe to the R6 Membership between June 11 and June 18 will receive an early adopter bonus containing an extra Ash epic bundle and 600 credits.

As recorded by MrNDRoyal on YouTube, Ubisoft’s announcement during this past weekend’s R6 Major Manchester 2024 didn’t go down overly well with the fans. In fact, it was met by a flurry of boos from the crowd as fans aired their frustrations.

Rainbow Six Siege has been a top-performing game for Ubisoft for almost a decade and continues to hold a top-10 spot on our Gameplay Chart. It’ll be interesting to see if this new membership affects the shooter’s popularity in the future.
