Proton Motor Power Systems has received a follow-up order for a complete hydrogen fuel cell emergency power system.

DB Bahnbau Gruppe has ordered the system under its brand name EnerRail H024, representing the same delivery scope as its previous follow-up order completed in May (2024).

The 24kW system will be integrated into the same railway control centre as the previous solution, located in the Greater Berlin area. Each system can be operated independently for a total rated power output of 48kW.

This is the 25th system ordered by Germany’s leading full-service provider for rail infrastructure since the beginning of a cooperation agreement signed in 2015.

“The order comes shortly after receiving serial and operational approval, a successful site acceptance test and hand over to our long-standing customer, DB Bahnbau Gruppe,” said Dr Faiz Nahab, CEO of Proton Motor.

“We are pleased that, with this new order, we are further strengthening our cooperation with DB Bahnbau Gruppe and we look forward to continuing to support Deutsche Bahn on its Net Zero transformation with our zero-emission fuel cell generator solutions.”
