The ANC, which had a calamitous Thursday, looks set to have an even worse Friday following the latest projection by News24 analyst Dawie Scholtz that puts the party in an even worse position than it was earlier.
According to News24’s latest projection, modelled on a higher number of confirmed results, the ANC will come in at a lower number than initially thought. News24 now believes that the ANC’s support could settle at 41.3%. It is exactly a percentage point lower than News24’s first national projection, that put the governing party at 42.3%.
This will represent a catastrophic collapse in popular support for the ANC from 57.5% in 2019 – a decline of 16.2 percentage points.
