The Prince and Princess of Wales are set to release a new picture to mark Prince George‘s 11th birthday on Monday.
Despite the earlier photo editing row, Princess Kate and Prince William chose to continue their much-loved tradition of sharing new pictures of their three children to mark their birthdays each year.
Back in April, the proud parents released a sweet picture of Prince Louis to mark his sixth birthday. The following week, to mark her ninth birthday, the couple released a picture of Princess Charlotte to their social media platforms.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said that he believes royal fans can expect to see a new picture of their eldest son – just like they did of Louis and Charlotte.
Mr Fitzwilliams said: “The tradition of releasing a photograph, usually taken by Catherine, on her children’s birthdays, is likely to be continued when George turns 11.”
Speaking of the adorable pictures, which are much-loved by royal fans, he added: “It is a charming way through which we can keep in touch with them whilst they are growing up, whilst retaining privacy in their day to day lives.”
Discussing George, he added: “Obviously there is the most interest in George who is heir to the throne.
“There is also continued speculation as to whether he will go to Eton or elsewhere. George has been seen a good deal with his father, most recently in Berlin at the Euros Final, which sadly England lost.”
Speaking on the tough year the Walses family have had, Mr Fitzwilliams said that whilst they celebrate George, “we also remember what a difficult time this is for him and for his family.”
The Princess of Wales is known for her skills behind the camera, and much like previous years, Kate will likely be the photographer behind a new picture of George.
Kate, who has made two public appearances since her cancer diagnosis back in March, was credited as being behind both Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte’s most recent birthday picture releases.
The sweet picture of Louis, which was released on his birthday on April 23, shows the young royal in the garden grounds of the family’s Windsor-based home. The cheeky six-year-old is pictured beaming at the camera.
This image was the first one the couple posted after the picture released to mark Mother’s Day was pulled by major photo agencies for being edited.
Princess Charlotte’s birthday picture was released on May 2.
The couple previously released the pictures on the eve of their children’s birthdays, but have since decided to release them themselves on the day of their birthdays.
It remains to be seen if the couple will release George’s birthday picture on the evening of July 21, or during the day on July 22.
Although Kate has previously taken the children’s birthday pictures, last year’s picture of George – to mark his 10th birthday – was taken by photographer Millie Pilkington.
