Princess Kate Nods to Princess Diana with Her Remembrance Day Jewelry

Must read

Princess Kate made a radiant appearance today at the annual Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.

In accordance with the traditional all-black dress code, she looked elegant in a black blazer dress. Two reflective silver buttons cinched her waist, while her lapel was adorned with a Royal Air Force pin and a red poppy, commemorating Remembrance Day (otherwise known as Poppy Day). A pair of sheer black tights peeked out from underneath the gown’s knee-length skirt, and she wore a pair of pointed black pumps.

Middleton rounded out her look with some luxe touches, including a pair of pearl drop earrings and a matching pearl pendant. In hand, she carried a black quilted Chanel clutch, though the designer bag was outshone by a sparkling ring on her left ring finger. There, she showed off the late Princess Diana’s engagement ring, flashing the large sapphire ring with diamond accents.

Princess Kate was joined by her husband, Prince William, and other members of the royal family, including King Charles. Queen Camilla was absent due to a chest infection, although “she will mark the occasion privately at home,” the Palace shared in a statement. The event commemorates those who were affected by World War I, and honors armed forces members who have served and sacrificed.

The occasion marks Kate’s second public appearance as she slowly returns to public duties following her treatment for cancer. In September, she announced she had completed her chemotherapy treatment and is now cancer-free. She enjoyed her first public outing later that month, attending a Sunday service at Crathie Kirk, a church on the royal family’s Balmoral estate in Scotland.
