Prince William sparks Prince Louis comparisons as his youngest son misses surprise royal appearance

Must read

A video of Prince William dancing to Taylor Swift at Wembley Stadium which has made waves online has seen the Prince of Wales compared to another dance sensation: none other than Prince Louis.

Footage of the Prince of Wales jiving to Swift’s hit single “Shake It Off” on Friday night was uploaded to TikTok – and has since been viewed tens of millions of times around the world, sparking a frenzy both from the public and from legions of the pop icon’s fans.

As Swift sings the lyrics: “And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate; baby, I’m just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake,” the heir to the throne can be seen bopping his head, flailing his arms and mouthing the lyrics above the packed venue.

Some social media users have called the clip “the greatest video of Prince William ever”, referred to William as “positively unhinged in the best of ways”, and claimed he “dances exactly how I expected him to”.

While others drew parallels between his moves and those of Hugh Grant in 2003 film Love Actually, and expressed their surprise at his apparent “Swiftie” status.

But it was one comparison which has made waves in the aftermath of the video’s release online – to Prince Louis.

One fan wrote: “You can tell where Prince Louis gets his moves from!”, while another said: “He’s having the time of his life! Now we know where Louis gets his moves from.”

The commentators were referring to the infamous impromptu dance routine showed off by the Prince of Wales’s youngest son in the stands of the late Queen’s “Platinum Party at the Palace” concert in 2022.

Nestled between the then-Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Kate, and his sister Princess Charlotte, Louis could be seen excitedly busting a move to the music as his mother and Mike Tindall attempted to calm him down.

Then, at the 2024 Trooping the Colour festivities just days ago, Prince Louis was at it again – yawning and dancing in front of his mother, Princess Kate.

The cheeky prince waited patiently with his siblings Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, nine, to watch the King’s birthday celebration parade from the window of the Duke of Wellington’s former office – before apparently finding great entertainment in dancing as crowds cheered below.

A few days later, both Prince George and Princess Charlotte were in the building for their father’s 42nd birthday at Swift’s Eras Tour concert, however, Louis was not pictured joining in the post-show fun.

Posting a series of selfies on social media, both Kensington Palace and Taylor Swift shared images of the royals meeting the pop star backstage at the concert, with Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce also making an appearance.

The internet-breaking photos came at the same time as the viral videos of Prince William showing off his moves emerged.

The future King has a track record of breaking into dance during public engagements – in 2016, William was pictured learning some new moves at Caius House youth centre in London.

And speaking to GB News, Royal and Showbiz reporter Kinsey Schofield also drew attention to the Prince of Wales’s prior dancing to Nelly Furtado’s “Maneater” at the concert for Princess Diana.
