Dominic Reid will now face one big question over the timing of his decision to resign as CEO of the Invictus Games, it has been claimed.
Speaking on Sky News Australia, writer and broadcaster Esther Krakue said that questions will be raised over why Dominic – who has worked as the CEO of the Invictus Games since 2014 – didn’t stay “to see in the winter games which was actually his idea”.
She also said that that the recent controversy over Prince Harry‘s decision to accept the ESPY Pat Tillman Award for Service could be seen as a reason for his timing of his exit.
Despite speculation that this could be the decision for Dominic’s decision to resign, Ms Krakue added that there is likely “more personal reasons” behind it.
Dominic has since released a statement, in which he claimed it was the “right time” to step down. Prince Harry has also released a statement where he said he was “immensely grateful” to his “friend” for transforming the Paralympic-style sporting competition for wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans from an ambitious idea into a global movement.
