Must read

Prince Harry has been snubbed by a close friend as the Duke of Westminster enlisted as usher at high-profile wedding.

Harry, 39, who is celebrating his sixth wedding anniversary with Meghan Markle today, was not offered a leading role at Hugh Grosvenor’s wedding.

Grosvenor, 33, is godfather to the Duke of Sussex’s five-year-old son Prince Archie.

Prince William also made the Duke of Westminster godfather to future-King Prince George.

He will tie the knot with Olivia Henson, 31, at Chester Cathedral on June 7.

The Prince of Wales will play a leading role in the groom’s party as usher.

However, Princess Kate is not expected to attend the society wedding of the year as she continues her cancer treatment.

As many as 400 guests will witness Grosvenor and Henson’s wedding.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are also not expected to attend the event, The Telegraph has claimed.

Grosvenor, a multi-billionaire who met Henson in 2021, opted for a “strictly no-gifts policy” for their guests.

The 33-year-old’s property portfolio, which he inherited from his late father in 2016, includes 140,000 acres in Oxfordshire, Cheshire, Lancashire and Scotland.

He also owns a further 300 acres of Mayfair and Belgravia.

The wedding service will be held at Chester Cathedral and will be followed by a reception at nearby Eaton Hall.

There will be a second smaller-scale reception for family and friends at Eaton Hall.

Despite being Grosvenor’s godfather, King Charles is not expected to attend the wedding.

The monarch is also due to visit France the day before the wedding to mark the 80th anniversary of the D Day landings in Normandy.

Queen Camilla and Prince William will accompany the 75-year-old monarch during his visit.
