Prince Harry given ‘cold-blooded present’ from lesser-known royal relative

Must read

Prince Harry said he once received a “cold-blooded present” from one of his royal relatives.

In his bombshell memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex reflected on an unusual present he received one Christmas that left him feeling “baffled”.

The prince said that the late Queen’s sister, Princess Margaret, who Harry refers to as “Aunt Margo”, presented him with the unusual present one Christmas Eve at Sandringham.

Prince Harry said the present was a tiny biro with a rubber fish wrapped around it.

He wrote in his book: “Standing before my pile, I chose to open the smallest present first. The tag said: ‘From Aunt Margo’. I looked over, called out: ‘Thank you, Aunt Margo!’

“It wasn’t just any biro, she pointed out. It had a tiny rubber fish wrapped around it. I said: ‘Oh. A fish biro! OK.’ I told myself: That is cold-blooded.”

In Harry’s memoir, he talks about Princess Margaret as he refers to them both as being the “two spares” who had a lot in common.

He also said how they were “both rebels” and “both labelled as sirens” by the Royal Family.

Prince Harry, who quit life as a working royal in 2020, is set to celebrate his 40th birthday today, September 15.

The prince is believed to be celebrating the day with a large birthday bash at his Montecito mansion with his wife Meghan Markle, 43, their children and friends.
