Calling all Caffè Nero lovers, Christmas has come early for you.

That’s right, your favourite coffee house has partnered with John Lewis to bring it’s delicious drinks to several department stores and Waitrose supermarkets.

The new café concept will feature Waitrose food offerings combined with Caffè Nero beverages, featuring coffee ‘roasted specifically’ for the supermarket.

So are any of the first five locations near you? The cafés will be introduced in the Waitrose stores in Billericay (Essex), Godalming (Surrey), Keynsham (Bristol), Locks Heath (Hampshire), and Stroud (Gloucestershire).

Don’t be disheartened if your local Waitrose isn’t on the list, because the supermarket’s commercial director Charlotte Di Cello hinted that this offering will be rolled out in more stores soon.

‘The initial tranche of five cafés will offer the best of Waitrose food together with coffee from The Nero Roasting Company, in a welcoming environment, served by our brilliant Waitrose partners,’ Charlotte said.

‘Our stores are hubs for local communities across the country and we know our customers love to have the option of enjoying a coffee, snack or meal after their shop.’

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. A 1,500 sq ft Caffè Nero has opened in a John Lewis store for the first time, at White City in London.

It’s offering drinks, deli food and specially trained baristas to offer you a delightful in-store experience, seating 72 people at any given time.

Caffè Nero and John Lewis’ partnership began back in 2021 and since then, the Nero Roasting Company has supplied nine million myWaitrose loyalty customers with delicious coffee.

While the supermarket had halted its free hot drinks initiative during the early months of the pandemic, it reintroduced the policy in November 2022.

As a result shoppers can claim a free americano, latte, cappuccino or tea once a day when they make a purchase.

Caffè Nero UK CEO Will Stratton-Morris said the collaboration was a ‘perfect pairing’, saying: ‘There is still so much scope for our partnership to continue to grow.’
