A pop singer who had huge success in the late nineties and earlier noughties is completely unrecognisable in recent photographs.
Jessica Simpson was an icon in the noughties with hits including I Wanna Love You Forever, I Think I’m In Love With You and Take My Breath Away.
The chart-topper was huge just a couple of decades ago but fans could barely recognise her after she posted a variety of snaps on social media.
The images showed the singer in a white and black ensemble, complete with platform-heeled cowboy-style boots.
Although she still had her trademark blonde locks and smokey eyeshadow look, fans found it difficult to identify the icon.
Many commented that she was unrecognisable – and thought she looked more like singer Paris Hilton or Ivanka Trump than herself.
Fans took to Instagram to share their confusion. ‘I don’t even recognize this person,’ said einnobk.
‘I thought this was Paris Hilton,’ said maryann_f0914.
‘I thought this was Ivanka Trump at first,’ added kerrijersey.
‘But, who is this, even? It doesn’t even look like Jessica Simpson,’ said kitchfulness.
‘Would have never know this is Jessica Simpson,’ said breakerbabe.
This isn’t the first time the star has been unable to identify the star, with many pointing out earlier this year that she looks worlds away from her old self.
Jessica has also been frank with fans about her journey with alcohol addiction which saw her gain and lose ‘100lbs’ three times in a short amount of time.
In November, she shared a heartfelt post to mark being seven years sober, she captioned the artsy post: ‘7yrs ago today I walked myself into the light of being alcohol free 🤍’
The chart-topper appeared across reality TV shows and films including The Dukes of Hazzard and Employee of the Month.
She was also known for her high-profile relationships with John Mayer and Tony Romo and her highly publicised marriage to Nick Lachey.
In 2001 the singer also released the hit tune Irresistible.
The artist released six albums between 1999 and 2010 but hasn’t released anything in 14 years since her 2010 album Happy Christmas.
In the past few years Jessica has appeared on the reality TV show Fashion Star with Nicole Richie, she also launched her own brand of workout clothing in 2015.
In 2020, Simpson released her memoir Open Book. In the book, she discussed her failed relationships, body image issues and, childhood traumas.
