Poll: Would you buy an Xbox Series X Pro?

Recent rumors suggest that Sony is gearing up to launch a slightly more powerful PS5 Pro later this year, which sounds a little more appealing than the new Xbox Series X|S consoles Microsoft is launching in October.Our colleagues at TrueTrophies have covered the PS5 Pro leaks in detail, so we’ll only touch on it here, but the new consoles are supposedly expected to launch sometime this fall. According to leaks, it’ll apparently render graphics around 45% faster than the current PS5 and feature two USB-C ports on the front like the current PS5 Slim model.

If the reports are correct, Sony’s mid-gen refresh could be offering a performance boost, which is more than Microsoft’s offering. We have three new Xbox Series X|S consoles launching in October, but it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting any performance enhancements over the current consoles, so it won’t be the mid-gen refresh we had hoped. The new consoles are a new 1TB white Xbox Series S, an all-digital white Xbox Series X, and a special edition 2TB Xbox Series X.

It’s always good to have more choice, but it’ll be very disappointing for Xbox fans if Sony launches a slightly better-performing PS5 Pro later this year. There is still hope, however, as earlier this year, Xbox president Sarah Bond revealed that Xbox will reveal some new hardware “this holiday,” so we could still get a proper mid-gen refresh.
