September is already looking like a stacked month for PlayStation Plus subscribers, as two day one games will be joining the service.
PlayStation Plus is regularly updated with existing games, from the Essential tier freebies, additions to the Extra game library, and now retro classics added to the Premium category.
One such classic is TimeSplitters 2, along with every other TimeSplitters game!
However very rarely a brand-new game launches straight into PlayStation Plus, a good example being the online multiplayer game Foamstars.
In September two games will join the PlayStation Plus service at launch, The Plucky Squire and Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, both of which look like bangers.
GAMINGbible recently previewed The Plucky Squire, calling it one of the most “gleefully inventive” games of the year so far.
The game itself is a 3D platformer with 2D segments, about a storybook character that leaps off the pages into the real world.
It’s set for release on 17 September later this year, and will launch on PlayStation Plus on day one, though it’ll also be available to buy on Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC.
The other game joining PlayStation Plus on launch day is Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions.
Harry Potter fans may have been initially disappointed with Hogwarts Legacy as it neglected to include a quidditch mode, but that was presumably an intentional decision as they had this game cooking up at the same time.
Based on the gameplay we’ve seen so far it looks like Rocket League but with a wizarding world twist, and fans will be able to play it for free on 3 September at no additional cost with PlayStation Plus.
Whether this pair of titles is your cup of tea will be up to you to decide on their respective launch days, but given they’ll be free to play with your subscription there’s no harm in trying them right?
