The PlayStation 5 may have been out for four years but it would surprise you how many owners are still unaware of many of the features that the console is capable of.
Don’t get me wrong, as long as the PlayStation 5 runs your games and they run well and look pretty, you don’t really need to worry about much else.
Check out the brand-new PlayStation 5 Pro below!
However, with the Sony console capable of things that would allow us to access those games a whole lot quicker, this feature is something that all owners should know about.
The feature in question was showcased in a video titled ‘39 Things You Didn’t Know Your PS5 Can Do’ by the Youtube account PlayStation Access back in February 2023.
Although the video is almost two years old, it is still being discovered by PlayStation 5 owners to this day and it is one mention in particular that has Sony fans shocked they didn’t know sooner.
Point three in the video draws your attention to the ability to download games in advance.
To do this, PS5 owners can purchase a game via the PlayStation App and start downloading it even whilst away from home.
So if you want to grab a game on your lunch break, it will be ready to play by the time you get home and will save you having to scowl at the download bar for the rest of the evening.
This feature can also be teamed up with the ability to set up automatic updates which means that your PS5 console will download any patches even in rest mode so you are not bombarded with them when you start it up.
These are simple yet effective ways to make the most out of your PS5 and they are features that are not obvious by any means.
As a result, fans took to the comments to share their thanks.
“Took me a bit to get one, but I finally did this last Christmas. Truly appreciate that you’re still posting tip videos, two years later,” one comment read.
Another said: “I’ve had a PS5 for about a year and a half, and I STILL learned a few things!”
Now it is time to learn all the new features that came with the PlayStation 5 Pro.
