Sergio Perez has ended speculation around Red Bull’s second Formula 1 seat for 2025 by signing a new contract with the team.
With strong candidates such as Carlos Sainz and Yuki Tsunoda circling, Perez’s long-term future at the Milton Keynes-based squad had been in doubt, with his contract set to expire at the end of the 2024 season.

Newey to Ferrari: ‘He would jump on that opportunity in a heartbeat’
The opportunity for Adrian Newey to build road cars with Ferrari is the key factor that could result in the Scuderia signing the design genius, according to a former F1 star.
It was announced last month that Newey is to leave Red Bull early next year after what will be 19 years’ service. At present, the 65-year-old has overseen the team winning seven drivers’ titles and six constructors’ championships.

F1 fans divided over who should replace Ocon at Alpine
Jack Doohan and Mick Schumacher have emerged as favourites to replace Esteban Ocon at Alpine, according to the latest RacingNews365 poll.
It was announced on Monday that Ocon would be leaving the Enstone team at the end of 2024 after five seasons, in which he picked up a maiden grand prix victory in the ’21 Hungarian GP.

Perez relishing Red Bull ‘challenge’ after fresh contract
Sergio Perez has labelled being part of Red Bull as an “immense challenge” that he “loves” after signing a fresh two-year deal with the team.
Perez’s contract was set to expire at the end of the 2024 season, but after negotiations with Christian Horner and Helmut Marko, he will be staying on for the ’25 and ’26 seasons.
